This straightforward logic analyzer incorporates two indicator lights, both illuminated with no incoming signal to the input. However, due to the NAND gates connected to the analyzer, it accurately identifies the presence of a rising or falling signal, functioning correctly even with pulsed waveforms. Typically, both indicator lights are conducting, powered by the 12V power supply. When a logic "high" signal is applied to the analyzer, IC1a’s output shifts to a low state, activating IC1b’s output and deactivating LED1 while maintaining a forward bias (and illuminating) LED2. Conversely, a logic “low” signal at the input will cause IC1b to output a low signal, enabling LED1 and disabling LED2.
